Much has been written about the "proper" way to run. The Pose method, Chi Running, barefoot/minimalist running are just a few well known types of running techniques. Most of what has been written recently advocates a mid- to forefoot strike (landing on either the ball of the foot, or the middle of the foot). Yet, close to 90% of most runners are heel strikers (landing on the heel).

In 1996 and 2000 in the final of the men's 10000 meters, Haile Gebrselassie and Paul Tergat finished first and second separated by about 0.1 second. Geb is a forefoot striker and Tergat is a heel striker. Point is, there really is no one way to run correctly.
Judy has been practicing physical Therapy for 25 years. An avid runner, Judy has placed in her age group in multiple local races and has completed 3 triathlons. Plagued by injuries, Judy became interested in evaluating running gait as a means for rehabilitation and to avoid further injuries.

At CURUN4ME, we will use slow motion video analysis, a comprehensive biomechanical exam (including your running shoes) and your running history to try to work with you to make you the most efficient runner that you can be. By doing this, we hope that you will be able to lower your risk if injury and help you run faster. It is a rare case that a runner needs to make a dramatic change. More importantly it is not uncommon for a runner to suffer an injury when trying to make a radical change in his/her form.
